Recently I Have Been...

31 May 2017

Here's a little round up of the past week or so!

Missing: Watching The Vampire Diaries, which ended earlier this month. I can't believe I have been watching the programme since I was 13 and after watching the last episode I just couldn't quite believe that it had ended after watching the programme for such a long time.

Enjoying: The lovely sunshine we have been having for the past couple of weeks. The past couple of days have felt like Summer even though we're still technically in Spring. We even reached 27 degrees! Whilst I'm more of an Autumn person I do love the warmth of the sunshine so I hope it stays like this for Summer!

Drinking: Nescafe's new Gold range which I am loving treating myself to a cup of latte or cappuccino in the morning. I am yet to try the Hazelnut latte which sounds so delicious so I might just have to pick one up for our next shop.

Picking: Strawberries in the garden! We just picked our first beautifully red strawberry over the weekend. We've never made it to that stage as for some reason our strawberries never used to grow. But this time we've hung the plant up in a hanging basket and that seemed to have done the trick for us!

Reading: Bridget Jones's Baby, which I was given last Christmas but just never got round to reading it! I recently finished Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher which I loved and it's also got me back into reading again. My goal is to read more books than I did last year (which wasn't many I'll tell you that), I was walking around Waterstones the other week and I've noted down some books I'd like to read!

Eating: Ice cream, because sunny days aren't complete without ice cream!

Struggling: To make the perfect loaf of bread. I don't think I've ever made a perfect loaf of bread. I've been using different bread mixes because I thought they'd be easier but still the loaf looks perfect on the outside and the middle is doughy! I don't think I'm kneading enough, so I think I may need to start practicing kneading. Anyone have any tips?

Wandering: Around the Peak District. A couple of weeks back we decided to go for a drive out to the Peaks, but the weather was pretty awful with plenty of thundery showers. So we only managed to make it into a place called Ashford in the Water which is a beautiful little village with a lovely little bridge.

Focusing: On staying positive and power through the bad days. My anxiety has been up and down for the past couple of weeks and I've been taking some time out just to wind down and try not stress myself out any further. I wrote not long ago on Instagram about how sometimes the best thing you can do is to take some time out away from anything that's been on your mind for a while.

Listening to: All of the Of Monsters And Men albums. I just love their music so much, I came across them when I first heard their song Little Talks back in 2011 and I've loved them ever since! I've been listening to their songs around the house, out and about and even learning some of their songs on the acoustic guitar.

Planning: A holiday down in Cornwall. There's this beautiful place called Tintagel which is associated with the Legend of King Arthur. It's such a mystical and magical place to visit, especially the castle, beaches and beautiful village. So I can't wait to visit again!
