Things to do in Autumn

As always when a new season begins I love to share my favourite things to see and do throughout that new season. I always say that Autumn is my favourite season of them all and I'll always stick by that. But I have begun to love and appreciate the littlest things in each of the seasons. Whether that be a love for the wildflowers in the Summer or frosty mornings in the Winter, there are different aspects of the seasons that I truly have a love for. Autumn is a time for harvest and cosiness. So without futher ado, here are my favourite things to see and do this Autumn!

:: Make your own Autumn garlands and wreaths to decorate your home with. You will find some really great ideas over on Pinterest and creative magazines.

:: Get stuck into Autumn baking. You could bake gingerbread loaves, apple pies, toffee and so on! You could even try out different pumpkin recipes such as pumpkin pies, cake pops, loaves, cheesecakes etc.

:: Carve your own pumpkins or try something new and decorate them with paint and leaves.

:: Start a new project and learn something new. Whether that be crafts, DIY around the home or a new photography challenge.

:: Add fairy lights and candles to rooms for a cosy and warm atmosphere in the evenings.

:: Bring out the Autumn home d├ęcor and gather cosy throws and cushions. I'm currently loving shades of oranges, greys and check prints!

:: Embrace an early morning, let the soft Autumn light in and cosy up with a hot drink and blankets.

:: Prepare your Autumn wardrobe with chunky knits, scarfs and boots!

:: Visit your local bookshop and find a new book to read.

:: Wind down in the evenings and create new Autumnal boards on Pinterest. I've already started to create mine for baking, clothing, photography and craft inspiration!

:: Visit a local farm and go apple or pumpkin picking!

:: Take a bike ride or a walk in the countryside or through a nearby trail/park to see the wonderful warm colours of Autumn and for a breath of fresh air when it's cool and crisp.

:: Visit an English Heritage site and find out what's on at the castles. Some usually set up special events for Halloween as well as seasonal shows and activities!

:: Forage and collect pinecones, acorns, leaves and conkers from the woodlands or even around your local park and use them as decorations for around the house!
