Recently I Have Been...

3 November 2017

Happy November! I can't quite believe how quickly October has flown by and that we can now officially say that Winter and the Christmas festivities begin next month! I'm finally back to posting again after a blog issue I had to sort out with the Google team, but I think it's been resolved so I'm hoping that I can carry on posting without anymore issues. Although it's only been a week, I've missed not being able to post. So I thought I would start off with my monthly little round up and share what I've been up to over the past couple of weeks or so!

Recently I have been...

Visiting: My local Blue Cross centre to see the horses. It's a 20 minute walk away from my house, but the walk to the Blue Cross is so beautiful especially in the Autumn with all the golden fields and rows of burnt orange leaved trees.

Carving: Pumpkins! I've never really been a big fan of Halloween, but I do love that time of the year to get creative and carve out the pumpkins to display around the house or in the garden.

Baking: Peanut butter, chocolate chip and oat cookies which went down a treat! I made a big batch of cookies to last the week, but with my family they only managed to last three days!

Watching: Gilmore Girls. I started Gilmore Girls three weeks back as I was looking for a new series to watch and it popped up in my Netflix recommendations. I remembered watching a few episodes a few years back and thought I'd give it another go. I love it so much and I think I'm just a little bit obsessed with it!

Eating: Toasted slices of fruit loaf with lashings of butter. I've been loving the Warburton's raisin loaf with cinnamon and the one with orange. Delicious with a cup of tea!

Loving: Waking up to a frost in the mornings. I just love when a sheet of frost covers the gardens and roof tops, glistening in the morning sunlight.

Wearing: The chunkiest slipper socks and wrapping up in my dressing gown as the evenings are starting to get so much more colder.

Wishlisting: A new chunky knit or checkered print throw for the end of my bed for Winter.

Pinning: Photography ideas for Winter. I saw a couple of Winter scenes on my Pinterest feed and just couldn't resist making some new boards for the Winter season and pinning lots of inspiration for the blog and photography in general.

Excited for: Christmas cups and new hot drinks menu at Costa!

Listening to: Lots of inspirational podcasts after I had been going through a tough time with self doubt and falling into the comparison trap. One in particular that I have found so helpful is a Ctrl, Alt, Delete episode with Olivia (What Olivia Did) talking about comparing and despairing. I found it so helpful to listen to Liv's journey with blogging and be able to relate to all the feelings of comparison and anxiety. Definitely worth a listen!

Reading: Issue one of Creative Countryside magazine which has been so put together with wonderful seasonal articles and the most beautiful photography.
