Recently I Have Been...

3 December 2017

Happy December! 'Tis the season for festivities and the beginning of Winter. I still can't quite believe how quickly these past few months have flown by and even though it's not officially Winter yet it certainly does feel like it! The last week of November was definitely the beginning of the cold Winter temperatures, all the golden leaves have pretty much fallen off the trees and we've been seeing more frosty mornings, even a bit of snow! Before things start to get all Wintery and festive around here, I have my monthly round up of what I've been up to recently.

Recently I have been...

Loving: All of the Christmas decorations at the garden centres. I recently visited Trentham Garden Centre again and their Christmas decorations are amazing!

Watching: My first Christmas film of the season. I don't usually start watching Christmas films until December but I watched Christmas in Homestead which was on tv a few weeks back. I hadn't seen or heard of it before but I thought it was quite a nice cosy film to watch in the evening. I'm looking forward to watching The Holiday and Love Actually again!

Planning: Festive bakes for Christmas. I've decided on hazelnut biscotti and chocolate shortbread biscuits that I'd like to have a go at baking!

Enjoying: Those cold rainy days in with a hot water bottle and a cup of tea to warm up to.

Excited for: Vlogmas videos! It's that time of the year again for Vlogmas. I'm looking forward to cosy evenings in catching up on all the festiveness on YouTube.

Using up: Over ripe bananas for banana bread. Banana bread is just perfect all year round!

Wearing: Layers upon layers of warm clothing. The last few days of November have been super cold. My Winter coat, gloves and scarf have definitely been needed when I've been standing outside the bus stop in the cold!

Receiving: A Christmas card from fellow lovely blogger, Peta (you'll find her blog here). She kindly posted me a beautiful Christmas card all the way from Spain!

Photographing: The last of the Autumn leaves. I used my Olympus OM10 film camera to capture some Autumn scenes around the parks and nature trails, it was a fun first go at using a 35mm film camera! I've also been snapping photos of the village on my phone when walking back from work in the late afternoon when the sky is a beautiful peachy pink.

Changing: My phone and laptop backgrounds to something festive! I always change my backgrounds in each of the seasons. This time I've gone for the beautiful Pottermore illustrations of Diagon Alley in the snow!

Pinning: DIY ideas for Winter decorations, there's some really amazing ideas for garlands and wreaths. I also recently made my own pinecone decoration, putting them in a vase along with some copper wire fairy lights!
