Happy New Year & A Little Catch Up

3 January 2018

It seems like ages since I last posted. It's been nice to have a little break away but I've definitely missed creating content for the blog! I didn't post as much as I had planned over the Christmas period. I had a couple of ideas for some festive content, but with things going on at work and me trying to rush about to do too many things at once, it just didn't seem work out and so I gave it a miss and took some time out to slow down.

After an up and down December, things have started to calm and I'm starting the New Year with positivity. I've spent the past few slow days at home, with plenty of cosiness, catching up on my favourites Gilmore Girls and Once Upon A Time on Netflix, enjoying slow mornings with a big mug of tea and getting out of the house for some fresh air. I've also been jotting down a few ideas for the blog in my notebook, pinning a few ideas on Pinterest and I've also updated the blog design for a little refresh!

2017 was a challenging one, but even with the lows of 2017, I've learnt so much from it all and I feel like I've grown stronger from those difficult moments. It's also been a big eye opener for me and through reflecting on those difficult moments I know what it is that I want to improve and the things I would like to work towards.

Although with some of the lows, 2017 had its little highlights. I took more time to appreciate and embrace the great outdoors, going for more walks around the local nature trails, visiting places like Chatsworth Gardens, Matlock and adventuring coast and countryside of Cornwall. I eventually took my Grandad's old Olympus film camera out for a test run and the photos came out better than expected! I connected with some lovely people online through blogging and social media, improved my baking skills and learnt to embrace those mindful moments.

Happy New Year!
