Blossom Trees, April Showers & A Little Catch Up

18 April 2018

It's been a while since I last shared a little catch up post on the blog. Things have been a little quieter than usual over here and on social media as over the past few weeks have been a bit busy and exhausting. But I think I'm now slowly getting used to a new routine again and starting to feel much more organised.

Since starting a new job I was feeling a bit down about being behind on my creative work and not posting as much as I'd love to. I'd also fallen behind on keeping on track with my to-do lists which was starting to stress me out, but I took a step back and reminded myself to slow down and focus on one thing at a time. I've now got back into making weekly plans and little to-do lists which has definitely been really helpful and made me feel on track and balanced with both my new job and creative work.

I mentioned in a previous post that the winter blues had really got me down and had been feeling a little stuck with my creative work. As much as I do love the colder seasons, the Winter weather was affecting my mood and so when we had the arrival of spring, the clocks going forward and lighter longer days, things seemed to pick up for me again and made such a big difference to the way I was feeling.

Speaking of spring, how lovely is it to see some sunshine after all that rain we've had! I do love a good rainy day, but there's been a lot of rain over the past few weeks, making April showers certainly live up to its name. But then again no matter the weather I'm definitely happy that spring is here and I've been noticing so many different changes whilst out and about!

April showers bring May flowers

I've been noticing all the blossom trees that are currently in bloom, which is one of my favourite things about this time of year. I've been seeing so many of the classic cherry blossom and not to mention the beautiful delicate white blossom too on my way to work or walks around the village. They are such a beautiful sight to see, and make all the streets look full of colour. I just can't resist taking my camera out with me and going for a wander, searching for the blossom trees and taking plenty of snaps.

I've also been spotting lots of new buds appearing, including my apple tree which I started growing from seed last year! Along with plenty of daffodils, magnolia trees and other flowers beginning to bloom. I'm definitely planning on getting back into going on longer walks and taking my camera out with me around the local village footpaths. The weather may have got off to a bit of a gloomy start but there's definitely plenty of beautiful spring changes to see!
